The Reincarnation of The Mith on the Ugandan Album

If good emcee is what to go about then that is an under statement for The “Am So Ug” rapper, The Mith real names Tom Mayanja. To many he is known as a words smith and through his music we have seen the prowess in his lyrical potential. His clinical and precise delivery to every verse he is on separates him from most emcees on the mic. He raps in English and mixes it with little Luganda at times to bring to life a relatable fusion of music and the life happening around around him.

The Ugandan Hip Hop scene has evolved over time and you can forget to recognize the influence The Mith has had on the genre. Starting his career the late 90’s with his good old-time friends turned brothers in rap Klear Kut, The myth of The Mith the “Bigman” as he prefers to refer to himself has been working and releasing music for about 20 years now. Many youngsters have grown up inspired by his thoughtful rhythms, beats and hip music rapflow.

In the early 2000s, together with his crew Klear Kut they released one of the dominant songs to break out of borders for the entire Ugandan Hip Hop community and went on to win a Kora Award setting the bar for Hip-hop music genre in Uganda.
