NYEGE NYEGE FESTIVAL 2017…THE PARTY THAT WONT STOP!

As the 3rd day of the Nyege Nyege Festival kicks off this is what is on ground!

No matter how you find yourself in Jinja , whether by plane, bus , matatu, Boda Boda, boat or you walked..Soon as you get to Jinja this weekend one word is on everyone’s lips “Nyege Nyege” being shouted out by Boda guys, random white people , groups of party people and yes even the heavy presence of security.

This Festival has grown to become a big part of the urban culture of Uganda and Africa as a whole. What has made it gain popularity worldwide is the shear creativity and consistency of the festival and this year it is yet to disappoint.

The security is on point but not invading. The drinks and food which are in plenty are affordable. The stages are all lit, and although nothing takes away from the main Festival stage ( this writer’s favorite has to be the reggae stage).

For the campers the Festival adds that adventure spirit to everything, you will find a spot set up your tent , meet your crazy neighbors and it’s off to the non stop party!

The variety of party goers can not be underestimated with all sorts of countries represented from as far as Australia to neighbors Kenya that need disappoints at these things!

Props have to be given to the decorating crews, every area has a different but Afrocentric vibe and it’s all done in the most creative ways using material like strings, old CDs, plants and basically nything that could be recycled!

With over 200 acts the musical line up has something for everyone, whether you are into EDM or cultural drums to choirs or classic reggae and all versions of hip hop.. at any one time there are probably 4 acts performing somewhere near you!

Here is what is going down in pics!!!
