The Mufasa Road Trip 2 and how it went down

Day 1: We officially set off from Kampala on Friday 1st June heading to Fort Portal with a first stop at Mubende for a real road trip meat snack . After setting up camp at the hills of the Amabere caves . The next stop was the Fort Portal town where we caught up with the rally while we had dinner, we had one round with team Kikankane before heading out to party the night away at the Beautiful Mountains of the moon hotel, it was nice catching up with the crew of the almost famous djs , Carrie the manager and Alex the owner of Kyaninga. Then it was back to the Amarebe caves camp site where we had a bonfire till late.

Day 2: We set off for the Amabere caves which were as refreshing as they were beautiful. Our guide Ignatius explained the history of the caves and their importance in the Bachwezi myths . From there we hiked up the hills to see some of the crater lakes in the region and discovered among them a dried one which looked amazing tho dead. After the long hike back we sttled down for lunch before packing up and getting back on the road, unfortunately because of time we could not visit our friends of Kyaninga . We then had a visit to the old Kilembe mines that provided some great sites from another time. We were off again as we tried to make it to our next stop in Mbarara where we set up at the Kihembo suits . After freshening up we headed to a bbq at Kabalaza then we were off to party at the legendary club Veguss and ended at club Desert till late.

Day3: We awoke to a lovely full African breakfast (good hungover cure!) and after packing up we were back on the road . We drove through Lake Mburo National park and got a good view of some zebras . We were back on the road before stopping at an Equator crossing for those must have pics! We stopped over at Igongo for a monument vist. Igongo has awesome food and hosts a cultural museum. We had to stop at Lukaya for some “muchomo”.   We were in Kampala before we knew it safe and sound with some great memories! Big thanks to the best professional driver Trevor and Mufasa tours and travel for putting this together !!!
